Resisting the Default

Team settings provide an opportunity to have an abundance of expert experience. The trick is letting the expert decide. In order to do that, we need to first identify the expert. Our brain tends to trick us into thinking we are the experts in all things. We also like to project our insecurities onto actual experts. Just because we think we know better, doesn’t mean that we do. Also, just because we think the other person is as clueless as we are, doesn’t mean that they are. Our ego likes to be at the center of every decision that affects us. I have to resist the egotistical view that no idea is good unless it comes from me.
