When we were kids, we had parents and little league coaches to help motivate us. That is because children live carefree lives that require motivation to initiate effort in an unpleasant direction. Motivation is for children. Knocking out a to-do list of non-preferred tasks each day is what grown-ups do. Sometimes grown-ups act like children when they procrastinate for no other reason than “it’s not fun”. Great teams take care of the little things regardless of how fun they are because they know that it’s way more fun to win.
