Evaluation usually makes people uncomfortable. It is often difficult to have our performance looked at and judged by someone else. When we avoid feedback and evaluation we value looking good over being good. We value our reputation over our development. In doing so, we lose out on both. Those that learn to value evaluation know that it is part of being on a team. The lone wolf never gains the benefit of outside opinions. Those that are insecure and don’t value evaluation see accountability as a downside of teamwork.
