Outlasting Discomfort

Feelings that are inconsistent with a previous decision often cannot be trusted. They are usually the result of discomfort and discomfort tends to have more pull in our minds than logic when it matters most. What influences my decisions? Is it most often the commitment I made or the fear of the moment that causes me to abandon the commitment? Great teams make discomfort a familiar companion. They don’t shun him. They know that when he is around, they are getting better. Ordinary teams ban discomfort from their presence and work hard to avoid him at all costs. In fact that work could become the goal of the ordinary team regardless of the mission statement on their website.
