Feelings are important, but they can throw a wet blanket on progress faster than anything. It’s our sentiment that often holds back our vision. We know where to go and what to do but we may not want to do the things to get there. It’s sentiment that tricks us into thinking that our success will not require the same hard decisions and tough effort of those that went before us. Sentiment is the lead in our shoes that makes progress more difficult than it should be. It causes us to think we can have the future we dream of with the comforts of the past. The sooner someone takes off the lead shoes of sentiment, the sooner they can walk into the vision they dream of.
