There is a natural default to defer to the lowest common denominator. Who wants to be that guy who always wants more from people? I do because it’s logical. Great teams get the most out of their people. More than anyone ever thought possible. There is a sense of belief that allows us to challenge people out of their comfort zones. It’s not easy because comfort is our well defended default state. Teams that are courageous enough to look someone in the eye and tell them they believe that they can do more usually get rewarded with more.
