The Futility of Information

Information can be powerful. When we are objective, we can see the facts and adjust our beliefs, opinions, and convictions based on those facts. Unfortunately that rarely happens because beliefs, opinions, and convictions are subjective. Subjectivity causes us to see the world as we think it should be. Reality has little to do with this type of perception. Facts can be explained away to fit our subjective reality even when we work hard to stretch or dismiss the facts to fit it. Doing is never really motivated by what we know. Doing is the result of what we feel. If you don’t believe me, just argue politics or religion with someone. It’s not exactly an objective experience.
