In a world where progress is the goal, we sure do like to remind the next generation of what it was like before cars, tin foil, sliced bread, microwaves, Netflix, and the internet. As if we didn’t have it easier than those that came before us. The next generation will work hard to solve the problems that the generation after them will have no appreciation for because problems were solved and progress was made before their time. This allows the new generation to make all new mistakes and progress of their own. Expecting appreciation from those that benefited from our progress is a bit unreasonable.
