Shoot!

No, I’m not referring to the euphemism for a popular expletive. It’s what my football coach would tell the linebackers when they hesitated to make a play. Linebackers must learn how to read a play and anticipate where the ball is going to end up. There has to be an immediate action once the play is read or the linebacker will miss the play. Why do we hesitate? It’s because when we pull the trigger there can be a lot of collateral damage if we miss. Heistiation is often not about not knowing what to do next. Hesitation happens because we often don’t have the nerve to do what it takes to make the play.
