Proper Preparation

Two quotes on luck:

1) I would rather be lucky than good.
2) Luck favors the prepared.

Great teams embrace the latter. Preparation is the key to any endeavor. Great preparation begins with the “why” because a team must be motivated by purpose. The next step is to answer the “what” and “who” by clearly assigning a name to each action step. Each teammate must be given time to develop the “how” of their action step because each project has a mix of the novel and routine. Finally, delivery and exception are the result of a carefully considered “when” because, as stated before, timing is everything.
