Great teams take the good with the bad. This means that they don’t overreact to failure or less than ideal situations. Teams should always work towards an ideal but they shouldn’t expect ideal conditions along the way. It takes diligence to show up every day, in less than ideal conditions, with a mindset to cause incremental change toward the ideal. Complaining about the conditions robs energy from that incremental change. Settling for less than ideal is even worse because the bar gets lowered and the ideal becomes a pie in the sky dream. Great teams make sure that today is better than yesterday.
