Talking People into It

I have learned that if you can talk someone into something, someone else can talk them out of it. This is important to realize when a team is looking to cast a vision and move forward. Teammates must choose to belong to the team and the team must clearly communicate what everyone is supposed to choose to belong to. It’s important to move forward gently to gain buy in from those who you are hoping to follow, but in the end, those who are not all in are not in at all. Fence sitting shows a lack of conviction and that won’t help a person joining the team in overcoming the hardships the team will face down the road.
