Even when change has been accepted, there are always a few who hold out hoping that the change will just fade away behind the old way. They wait to see if the team really meant it when they chose the new direction. A team really demonstrates a commitment to the new direction when they do not second guess it at every bump in the road. Looking back to the old way with buyer’s remorse is a great way to reinforce the status quo. The late adopters will learn to merely wait out the team as they are easily turned back by circumstances brought on by the new direction. Great teams don’t look back. They dream, vision cast, plan, implement, adjust, and deliver, in that order. Change is constant and purposeful and the team knows it.
