Preparation Aversion: The Urgent

If preparation is so important, why does it get compromised so often? I know that I can compromise proper preparation when I let it get crowded out with more urgent or fun items. We only do what we care about and sometimes the urgent list bleeds into the time I set aside to better prepare. The irony is that if I spent more time preparing, I would likely have a short urgent list. Proper time management and discipline always help to take advantage of the time we set aside to properly prepare.
